Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is only about 3 km from the city centre, so most hotels along the Han River and My Khe beach are a short drive away. What takes time is everything between the aircraft door and the car: immigration, baggage and finding your driver. This guide walks through those minutes in order.
Before you fly: what to send with the booking
- Your hotel’s exact name, as written on your hotel confirmation. Many hotels share a name; add the street or beach area if in doubt.
- Flight number and, if the form asks for it, the arrival time.
- Passengers and bags, so the vehicle fits both people and luggage.
- A phone number that works after landing, with country code, ideally on WhatsApp or Zalo.
All of this goes into one request on the airport transfer booking page, where the fare for each vehicle class is shown before you send anything.
After landing: from the aircraft to the car
International flights arrive at Terminal 2 and domestic flights at Terminal 1; the two buildings are linked by a walkway. On an international flight the order is passport control, baggage claim, then the arrivals hall. Queues depend on how many flights land together, so do not plan on a fixed number of minutes.
Switch on roaming or connect to airport Wi-Fi as soon as you land, and keep your phone within reach. Most pickup problems are simply a missed message.
Meeting your driver
Your driver meets you in the arrivals hall. If you asked for a name sign, look for your name. If you cannot find the driver after a few minutes, call or message the contact in your booking confirmation rather than walking out to the taxi queue.
The ride to your hotel
- Hotels in the city centre and along the Han River are typically 10–20 minutes away outside rush hour; My Khe and Son Tra beach hotels take a little longer.
- Some hotels sit in narrow lanes. Ask yours for the nearest drop-off point if a larger vehicle cannot turn in.
- Standard check-in is usually in the afternoon. If you land early, ask the hotel about early check-in or luggage storage before you travel.
